We have secured an important order working together with associated company G.I. Filtration Services (Pretoria, R.S.A.). Testori has supplied G.I. Filtration Services with 90.000m2 of felt in acrylic, homopolymer Ricem® with fine fibre on dust side, our style D580SB.
G.I. will manufacture the 24.500 filter bags for Eskom Generation, South Africa’s state-owned power company. The bags are to be fitted in 3 units of Hendrina Power Station (capacity: 2.000MW), one of Eskom’s oldest operating power stations and the only one with 10 units.
We are very proud to share with G.I. Filtration Services their great satisfaction of having being recommended as an approved supplier to the Eskom Generation Division.

We have won an important filter bag order from Bateman Howden, the specialist in the design, manufacture and installation of gas-cleaning system for power utilities. The bags will be installed in the boiler nr 5 of Majuba Coal Fired Power Station (South Africa), the largest producer of coal-fired electricity in the world. We previously supplied also the boilers nr 1, 2, 4 and 6. We will manufacture the 16.270 bags - 7,1 m long - in our acrylic microfelt® multilayered needlefelt: our style DX585SB Superior. Its high filtration efficiency is obtained with a layer of P84® (dust side) on a base needlefelt made of H.T. Ricem®.

This year we have been looking back with proud to our industrial history; a century of research and innovations, of men and women dedicated to this achievement.
We have been celebrating with a big event day. We transformed our plant. An intense photographyc journey run through our production site; our warehouse was dressed up, with beautiful curtains sewn by our “confezione” department, to guest 350 current and ex employees; donations to various local communities were made.

We have secured a large order of bags to be installed in a new Enel power station, in Torvaldaliga (Italy). Testori will install 43.000 filter bags in the Coal Fired Boiler (3 x 660MW). The bags are 8m long and made in PPS fiber; we will manufacture them using 170.000 m2 of our special treated needlefelt, style S558MT.

Testori has secured another important order working together with associated company G. I. Filtration Services (Pretoria, R.S.A.). Testori supplies the special needlefelt and G. I. manufactures the 50.000 filter bags to equip the units 1, 2 and 4 of a Coal Fired Boiler in South Africa. Testori supplied, in 97 and 98, the same CFB with filter bags for the units 5 and 6. Testori SpA deliberated the merger by incorporation of its subsidiary Quadrelli into the holding company Testori. As a consequence two business areas have been created: the Needlefelts Area and the Fabrics Area. The new organization has strategic value for the group because it has the ideal conditions to exploit the experience, technical know-how and managerial vision accumulated over 100 years in our main business markets: gas and liquid filtration.
The merger will have effect from 31 December 2004.

Since 1978, every first saturday of full moon in October, 1.700 athletes compete in the World Championship of the Ironman Thriathlon in Hawaii. It means: swimming for 3.8km in the ocean, cycling 180km along the lavic roads of the island, running a complete marathon (42.195km). All this in one day whithin an overall cutoff time of 17 hours. This year again the Testori and TTL France (a Testori subsidiary) logoes crossed the finishing line of this incredible journey worn by our export manager, Max Rovelli.

Testori through his Represantation Office in Shangai has secured three large orders in China for the cement industry. These orders are for Yunnan Dong Jun Cement Company (1 kiln bag filter of 5000 bags, 1 cement mill filter of 4400 bags and 1 slag mill filter of 4300 bags), Teng Hui Cement Group (2 kiln filters totalling 6400 bags and 1 slag filter of 4700 bags) as well Lafarge China Cement (1 kiln filter of 3500 bags). The OEMs for the above orders are DG Environmental and Zhejiang Jie Hua.

Thanks to a specific know how and a long-term business co-operation between our French subsidiary TTL France and Solios, the world leader for dry scrubbing systems dedicated to primary aluminium smelters, Testori Group has won an important order for 14.100 bags. The filter bags, made of our T556SA, will equip the Alba Bahrain aluminium plant and will be installed in the Fume Treatment Center.

Alstom Power Environmental Segment and Testori in March 2004 agreed to renew their worldwide frame agreement which has been successfully operating for several years. The contract establishes not only the supply of filter bags for Alstom's diverse industrial applications but also the co-operation in the research and development of new technical solutions, individualization of alternative fibers and achievement of competitive products.

We have won a large filter bag order for Energie Badenwurtenberg Power Station (ENBW), Stuttgart, Germany. The order covers a total of 5.800 filter bags to be supplied in March 2004; they are 6.5m long, in acrylic and for the 2 filters which have a total filtration surface of 14,976 m2. We installed the original bags in 1995 with a life expectancy of 5 years: they lasted 8!
Since the start-up of the boiler ENBW has been sending us every year 10 bags to be tested in our laboratory for regular monitoring of their working conditions.

Our subsidiary, TTL France, has won a large order to equip an Intensiv filter with 5880 bags for the Ciment Calcia plant (member of Italcementi) in France. The filter bags (4,5 m long) are made of our X554 MT. The application is the dedusting of fumes coming from the cement kiln as well as from the raw mill. The contract includes an agreement with TTL Maintenance team for the bags replacement; quick repairs during shut down periods; tests with fluo powder and assisting customer with pre-coating to avoid bag clogging.

In July we obtained an important commission for more than 25.000 filter
bags which will be installed in the Power Stations of Seward in Pennsylvania
and Gilbert in Kentucky (USA).
The bags will be made of S 558 MT, a PPS felt with special Mantes treatment suitable for Coal Fired Boilers applications of the Power Generation sector.

From the 5th to the 8th of March a seminar on filtration was held in Novate for
our colleagues of TTL-France.
A dedicated team of sales and engineering staff from Testori explained and
demonstrated our manufacturing technologies,products and their applications.
The guest found the seminar very informative and enjoyable -our visit to "Fashionable Milan" was well appreciated ! A real basis was created for an expanding group and for international friendships.

After the great success of the 1st supply in 1993, another important order was placed recently with Fratelli Testori for the new Lurgi filters.
More than 8700 bags , 8 meters long and made with 550 g/m2 PPS felt treated MANTES,
will be installed in the new bag filters to be built at unit 7 of the Fynsvaerket power station
in Denmark.
The bags will treat the flying ash generated by a 339 MW coal fired boiler ; the new filter
equipment will replace the old ESP.
With this order , the Fratelli Testori is mantaining its position of leadership in
the sector C.F.B in Europe.

La Fratelli Testori ha acquisito in data 15-12-2000 la società TTL-Nordifa, Francia dal gruppo Nordifa (Svezia). TTL-Francia e' leader a livello mondiale per la filtrazione polveri nel settore alluminio con i sacchi a 29 canali ed è uno dei principali produttori e fornitori di maniche in Francia. Con questa acquisizione il Gruppo Testori sara' piu' presente direttamente in Francia e Benelux.

Abbiamo recentemente acquisito un importante ordine per n.° 22150 maniche da 7,3 m in fibra PPS per la centrale di energia di Millmerran (Australia). Le maniche saranno installate in due unità della centrale da 700+700 MW. L' ordine è stato acquisito con il gruppo Reserch Cottrell (USA). Le consegne sono previste per Gennaio e Aprile 2001.
